The Agency of French-speaking Universities, representing 616 French-speaking higher education institutions globally, the Linux Professional Institute, and Canonical Ltd have announced the world's first <A HREF="http://www.prweb.com/releases/2006/8/prweb423568.htm">Ubuntu certification in French.</A> The first Ubuntu Certified Professional exams in French took place at Dakar on July 15, 2006. The certification exams were created by Canonical Ltd and a team of French-speaking experts from the AUF. In response to fast-growing demand, the AUF plans to schedule more Ubuntu Certified Professional exams and training sessions in French-speaking universities globally. This program is part of the policy to promote free and open source software using the "Linux and Free software centres network" created by the AUF.
