The solution ensures that all flight emissionsare properly calculated, and reporting is accurate &timely.

"In FY 2011/12, domestic air traffic grew at a rate of12.9 percent, creating a huge demand for fuel which accounts for amajor expense for any airline. With IBM's solution, JetAirways will be able to evaluate carbon footprint not only at thefleet level but also at the aircraft level. It will help usoptimize the fuel usage and thereby create a positive impact on theenvironment," said Raghavan.

Read also:

IBM Analytics to Support Jet Airways' Green Initiatives (MarketWatch (press release))

IT firms help airlines cut cost in troubled times (Livemint)

Explore: 22 additional articles.
