<p><!--[if lt IE 7]>--> end javascript to email the article Comtex News Network</p><p>Sep 26, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) --Oracle has announced that Versace, an Italian fashion company, is using Oracle VM Server for x86 to address the demands of its expanding data center.</p><p>To ensure their IT infrastructure could meet the growing demands of the business, Versace began an upgrade process that would replace aging IT components with lower cost, higher performance solutions. By choosing Oracle VM, Versace was able to reduce virtualization-related costs by 50 percent, while doubling the number of cores in production, Oracle said.</p><p>With its new Oracle VM-based architecture, which also leverages Oracle Linux, Versace has been able to reduce its physical number of servers by 40 percent, rack space by 25 percent and power consumption by 45 percent. Using the Oracle VM Template for Oracle E-Business Suite with Oracle Enterprise Manager for full stack management enabled Versace to deploy a fully-managed enterprise application in development, test, and production environments in hours, jumpstarting their ERP upgrade, the company added.</p><p><a href="http://www.equities.com/news/headline-story?dt=2012-09-26&val=519586&cat=tech">Keep reading...</a></p>
