<p>SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) Technology stocks gave up early gains to slip into the red Monday, as Apple Inc.'s losses weighed down the Nasdaq Composite Index.</p><p>Apple shed 1.2% to close at $659.39 as the Nasdaq posted a fractional loss, closing at 3,114.</p><p>The tech sector got a lift from shares of International Business Machines Corp. and Hewlett-Packard Co. , which were among the best performers on the Dow Jones Industrial Average.</p><p>IBM gained 1.5% to $210.47, while H-P added 1% to $17.21.
