<p>Insp. Gen. Dikdik Mulyana Arief Mansur resigned from his post as the South Sumatra police chief in order to run in the upcoming West Java gubernatorial election.</p><p>Dikdik said on Wednesday that he had submitted his resignation letter to National Police chief Timur Pradopo.</p><p>"I and former Indramayu Regional Secretary Cecep Nana Suryana Toyib are going to run for 2013-2018 West Java governorship and deputy governor on an independent ticket," he said.</p><p>Dikdik explained that police officers must resign from their post if they wanted to run as regional leaders.
