Eclipse staging services LLC, a Dubai-based company, has ordered 40 Christie Roadster HD20K-J 3-chip DLP 16:9 projectors and ILS lenses to service its Dubai operations, as well as future expansion into Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

The overall package, worth an estimated four million US dollars, was announced by Eclipse chairman, Mark Brown, and Christie EMEA senior sales director, Simon Smith this week at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2012. Smith confirmed that this was the largest single order received from a GCC-based rental house since Christie set up its Middle East office some five years ago.

Eclipse already owns a large inventory of Christie projectors, including 8K, 18K, and 35K HD devices. This new order, for which delivery is planned for December, will mean Eclipse is better equipped to service both its own clients and other technical suppliers in the region.

Brown explains: "We have been a trade supplier to most of our AV colleagues in the GCC region and, having assisted an international projection company by providing 24 Christie projectors for the Abu Dhabi Grand Mosque to celebrate the UAE's 40th anniversary last year, we recognise the need for large quantities of high quality projectors in the region." He continues, "With this major investment in Christie technology we are hoping to become a regional hub to other technical suppliers within the rental staging industry, and stop the considerable current outlay to the freighting companies that haul these projectors backwards and forwards from Europe and the USA."

Read also:

Christie pens $ 4m deal at GITEX (InAVate)

Explore: 2 additional articles.
