<p>Khofifah on PKB Ticket for East Java ElectionFarouk Arnaz &Markus Junianto Sihaloho | December 26, 2012</p><p>The National Awakening Party has backed Khofifah Indar Parawansa, the former minister for women's empowerment, as its pick for the East Java gubernatorial race, citing her loyalty to the party and her standing in biggest Islamic organization in the country.</p><p>The party, known as the PKB, also said that it was seeking a partnership with the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), which has not announced its candidate yet.</p><p>"This is the outcome of a meeting on Friday by the PKB's central leadership board," Saifullah Maksum, the chairman of the party's election strategies board, said on Tuesday.</p><p><a href="http://www.thejakartaglobe.com/news/khofifah-on-pkb-ticket-for-east-java-election/563589">Keep reading...</a></p>
