<p>A business association has expressed hopes that the industry bill, currently being deliberated at the House of Representatives, will encourage the development of industrial estates outside the densely populated island of Java to other less inhabited islands.</p><p>Indonesian Industrial Estate Association (HKI) chairman Sanny Iskandar said on Wednesday the bill needed to specify incentives to be given to developers to spur expansion in regions outside Java.</p><p>"Developers need added value when they're developing an industrial estate in the regions," he told The Jakarta Post after a hearing on the bill at Commission VI of the House of Representatives.</p><p>He said developers wishing to open new industrial estates needed an easier permit process.
