<p>Twenty homes were damaged in a deadly explosion in Bondowoso, East Java, on Sunday when fireworks stored in a home belonging to a member of the local military command ignited, killing the man and his 13-year-old neighbor, police said.</p><p>First Srgt. Agus Suryadi, 45, of the Curahdami subdistrict military command, was reportedly storing sacks of fireworks in his home in Kotakulon subdistrict. The soldier was allegedly planning to sell the fireworks, Cmr. Gen. Badrodin, of the National Polices security division (Baharkam), said.</p><p>On early Sunday morning, the soldier's home exploded, killing Agus, injuring his wife and killing their 13-year-old neighbor Tara. In total, twenty homes were damaged in the explosion.</p><p>"The explosion allegedly came from fireworks because [police] found fireworks materials. like potassium, sulfur and other chemical materials," Badrodin said.
