Staff Albany Business Review</p><p>IBM Corp., which laid off 700 employees in downstate last year, is preparing to lay off more workers this year, a move that's expected to cost the Armonk, NY, company $1 billion, according to a report by the Poughkeepsie Journal.</p><p>IBM, the world's largest provider of computing services, has not said publicly how many jobs will be cut. But the company's chief financial officer said the cuts will be on a similar scale to the 2013 reductions, according to a report by the Syracuse Post-Standard:</p><p>Analysts expect the majority of the layoffs to occur in IBM's hardware division, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal report.
